Celebrate the Holidays with “The Nutcracker” This Sunday

This weekend, Kozlov Dance Academy will present a performance of the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker” at Cas di Cultura on Sunday, December 15, at 3:00 pm. Kozlov Dance Academy’s production of “The Nutcracker” was first staged for the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House in 1981 by Leonid Kozlov, former principal dancer with both the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia, and the New York City Ballet. As the director of Kozlov Dance Academy, Leonid Kozlov has been delighting audiences in the United States and Aruba since 1993 with his dazzling choreography set to Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score and lavish costumes and scenery direct from the Bolshoi Theatre Workshop. Leonid Kozlov will dance the leading role of Herr Drosselmeyer.

Students of Kozlov Dance Academy will dance all roles from the lead role of Clara to the Snowflakes dancing lively on pointe. They are sure to impress the Aruban community with their poise and professionalism. Kozlov Dance Academy, in its seventh season on the island, has been providing students with the highest quality of classical ballet training.

“The Nutcracker” makes the perfect introduction to classical ballet. The performance is suitable for children ages 3 and older and is a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays. Tickets are 35 Afls and can be purchased in advance at Van Dorp Bookstore (Dakota) as well as before the performance. For ticket inquiries, call 564-2670.
