They did it again! On Wednesday, August 22, the Aruba Tourism Authority held the 2nd Annual Vow Renewal Ceremony on the breathtaking shores of Eagle Beach. With more than 200 couples from around the world gathering at sunset to say their “I dos,” the event takes the crown for the largest vow renewal event in the Caribbean. There were a few reality celebs taking part in the festivities, including The Bachelorette’s Ashley and J.P. Rosenbaum, and Lydia and Doug McLaughlin from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Local wedding officiate Andy Osborne charmingly ushered the couples through a beautiful ceremony, leading off with these lovely words:
When you first joined hands and hearts in marriage, you did not know where love would lead you. You promised to love, honor, and cherish one another through all things. You have shared the joys and blessings, as well as the challenges, of married life, and today you want to reconfirm your commitment to continue working together and to ensure that your marriage continues to blossom in the years to come. May this renewing of the vows you took to become husband and wife remind you that despite the stresses inevitable in every life, your love, respect, trust, and understanding of each other will continue to increase your contentment and heighten your joy for living.
Sealed with a collective kiss, the ceremony was followed by a dreamy island reception, with gorgeous and inspiring décor, Champagne, and hors d’oeuvres. The spirit of Aruba’s biggest celebration—Carnival—is always alive on the island, and besides an amazing Eagle Beach sunset, the best photo op of the evening was the costumed Carnival dancers sharing the energy and excitement of the island and an integral part of our culture.
Local luxury jeweler Gandelman held a raffle for all the couples, with one lucky couple receiving a his-and-hers Cartier bracelet set.
