Experiential Dining Series: Aruba Downtown Walking Tours
Many travelers today seek connections to their destination, looking to weave culturally or locally authentic experiences into their vacations. With food so strongly associated with each culture or destination, it’s no surprise that experiential dining is gaining popularity worldwide. Here on Aruba, several unique dining experiences are offered—from sampling farm-to-table fare to dining in the tropical garden of a local chef. In our Experiential Dining Series, we present a few of these can’t-miss experiences.
Experience #2: Aruba Downtown Walking Tours
Aruba’s heritage is not relegated to just guidebooks—it is alive and breathing in our landscapes and streetscapes, our cuisine, our art, and our people. In 2016, Aruba Downtown Walking Tours began a dynamic interactive tour with local experts sharing an authentic perspective of historic downtown Oranjestad. The daytime tour has a heavier focus on architecture and history, with stops to taste two local snack favorites. The evening tour is more of a walking food tour highlighting local cuisine as well as international cuisine that has influenced Aruba’s culinary-scape, with a few stops at historic monuments and interesting cultural commentary along the way.
